Jazz from Icheri Sheher
I've been trying to think of a way to express how much I love this CD. A gift from friends who visited Baku. this is a compilation of jazz artists of Azerbaijan, a country that has moved the most American art form forward in a way more Americans should understand. Samples are hard to find, but here's one by Rain Sultanov with a tune that translates "Baku Memories." I'm not sure you can buy the album in America.
