New Album Tuesday

White Stripes! Enough said, right? Maybe a live collage of different concerts, no new material, is all we deserve. If Jack White says so then that's right, right? We want more!

Sorry, I'm southern but I've run my coarse with Southern Rock. But if you're into it and its alt-country Muscle Shoals derivatives, the DBTs are premier. The new release gets a 7.4/10.0 at Pitchfork and 78/100 at Metacritic. Some informal feedback from a cousin says it's mid-level for the band.

The new The Whigs is getting mixed reviews. The Rolling Stone has it in acceptable territory, whereas Pitchfork is ready to pitch it.

Best new group? Fang Island by Fang Island struck a mighty 8.3/10.0 and "Best New Music" designation at Pitchfork, Pitchfork: Album Reviews: Fang Island: Fang Island and AllMusic gives a quick overview with comparisons to the likes of Arcade Fire, The New Pornographers, Animal Collective, and Local Natives. allmusic ((( Fang Island > Overview )))
MILES OF TRANE is liking it so far but will need some more convincing.

Finally. Pitchfork: Album Reviews: Titus Andronicus: The Monitor 8.7/10.0 and The Monitor reviews at Metacritic.com 81/100 with "Universal acclaim" designation. MILES OF TRANE IS IMPRESSED WITH INITIAL LISTENS, JUDGMENT WITHHELD FOR NOW.
