Hopefully by the end of this weekend I will have reviewed the new Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach. I plan to take some time to give new listens to their first two albums before fitting the new one into the bigger picture. They are a premier group, or virtual group, I'm not sure of the proper descriptor -- and the initial listens to the new release provoke feelings of depth and affinity.
Also on tap is Titus Andronicus' new album The Monitor. I admit unfamiliarity with this group, having missed their debut in 2008. O'Barr surely tell me if I should know them or if I get a pass. The reviews are intriguing and give me a hint that something unusual is in store.
There are several other new releases in the past week or so on which I hope to get some notes posted. Time will be the limiting factor.
